This painting celebrates the simple joy of living by the sea - the daily awakening of the senses to colour, light, and movement. Inspired by the fresh breezy walks at the beach here in Mangawhai where I live, the painting captures the gentle winds that lift the heat from the day, carrying with them the scent of salt and spray. It’s a refreshing reminder of coastal living - where to breathe in the fresh air renews the spirit and fills the heart with gratitude for the beauty of the everyday. Size (h w d): 200 cm x 26 cm x 6 cm Materials : Acrylics on cut and sewn canvas with wire inserts. Hanging : Ready to hang, on flat head nails (hanging info sheet and nails provided). Every year I look forward to and delight in the blooming and seeding of the Kowhai trees, their gracefulness and colour as they peek out from the bush and hang over the roads. The repetition of this seasonal and cyclical event adds colour and depth to my sense of belonging here in the Hokianga. I have always been intrigued by natural forms and I take delight in replicating and celebrating their unique and individual forms, imbuing them with my own aesthetic. (Inventory 21127)

An abstract painting featuring golf themed elements, and highlighting the flag of the 18th hole. However there is also a less prominent 19th hole flag, suggesting a seating area, and importantly liquid refreshment! This painting will appeal to the fanatic golfer, as it will to the weekend hacker alike. The perfect gift.

The Lighthouse Acrylic on canvas, 610 × 815 mm $ 450 Reflection Storms announce themselves with noise, but courage rarely does. The lighthouse cannot calm the sea or silence the gathering clouds. Its purpose is simpler: to remain steadfast, offering light to those navigating uncertain waters. The two figures standing on the shoreline remind us that hope is often learned. Before we can become a light for others, someone must first teach us where to look. Part of Sacred Ordinary , this painting reflects on the quiet strength of faithfulness. Even when the horizon disappears, light continues to exist beyond the storm. Poem The sea remembers every storm. The rock remembers every tide. Light does not argue with darkness; it simply keeps its place. Perhaps hope has never been the absence of clouds, but the quiet certainty that someone is still tending the flame.

An oil painting on board, framed. The first of my water series paintings. A moment caught in time.

The painting depicts a secluded forest pool beneath a low, spreading tree. Sunlight filters through the yellow-green foliage, brightening the far bank while the water remains cool and shadowy. Moss-covered rocks cluster along the near shore, and a narrow line of white water suggests a small cascade or stream entering the pool. The soft, hazy brushwork gives the scene a quiet, sheltered atmosphere.
